Bill 96 and Law 25, handled while we build your site

Two Quebec laws shape what a business website has to do: one about language, one about privacy. We build for both from the first page, so you aren’t patching a finished site later.

Language

Bill 96: your site in French

Bill 96 updated Quebec’s Charter of the French language. For a business website, the practical point is that customers in Quebec should be able to deal with you in French, and a French version has to be at least as easy to reach as an English one.

What it means for you: a real French version, written for Quebec readers, not a machine translation added at the end.

Privacy

Law 25: what you do with personal data

Law 25 is Quebec’s private-sector privacy law, and it has no minimum company size. In short: say what you collect and why, ask before you track people, name someone responsible for personal information, and publish a privacy policy in plain language.

What it means for you: contact forms, analytics and ad pixels all need to be set up with that in mind.

What we do

What’s included in every build

You don’t pay extra for any of this when we build your site. If you already have a site, we can audit it against the same list.

French written first

Quebec vocabulary and French typography, from the first draft. You review the French and the English side by side.

A cookie banner that waits

Analytics and ad pixels don’t load until a visitor says yes. We use the cautious reading of the law, and it costs you nothing.

A privacy policy that names a person

Written in plain French and English, with the name and contact of the person responsible for personal information. You approve the final text.

Forms that explain themselves

Every form says why it asks for your details and links to the policy. We only collect what you need to reply.

A fix list for sites that already exist

For an existing site, we review the pages, the forms and the tracking, then give you a written list of what to change, in order of importance.

What we don’t do

We aren’t lawyers, and this page is general information, not legal advice. We don’t handle an employer’s francization program, and we can’t speak for the Office québécois de la langue française or the Commission d’accès à l’information. For your specific situation, ask a Quebec lawyer.

PLACEHOLDER: price for a compliance audit of an existing site, or remove this line.
